Overview

The Century Zinc Mine commenced open-pit production in 1999 and was previously one of the largest zinc mines in the world.  The mine ceased operations in 2016 and re-commenced operations in 2018, primarily through the re-treatment of tailings. 

Scope

Gravity Resources was initially engaged by CML to perform Construction Management services on Water Sustainability Projects at the New Century Mine Site, Pipeline and Karumba Port.

Subsequently, Gravity Resources has provided additional engineering and construction professionals to the support the CML Projects team on the Stage 2 Plant Upgrade.

Tasks included Rougher Scavenger/Cleaner Floatation Upgrades, Feed Upgrade, Tailings Disposal Upgrade and Sustainability of the Concentrator.
