Are you an experienced capital projects professional looking to make an impact in a dynamic mining environment? Our Client is seeking a hands-on Owner-side Capital Projects Specialist to manage the full lifecycle delivery of a portfolio of small capital projectsfrom Concept through to Closeoutwithin a brownfield mining operation.
In this role, you’ll support the Senior Project Specialist and collaborate closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Contractors, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget, all while adhering to the Client’s governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
Manage planning, scheduling and execution of assigned capital projects
Coordinate consultants and contractors delivering work packages
Support capital toll-gate approvals and governance requirements
Ensure timely execution of project deliverables
Project Controls
Monitor and report on schedule and cost performance
Track Capex expenditure against approved budgets
Generate financial and progress reporting for stakeholders
Risk & Quality
Identify and manage project risks
Ensure compliance with AS/NZS standards and ISO 9001 quality systems
Participate in HAZOPs, constructability reviews and safety-in-design workshops
Stakeholder Management
Act as key interface between Engineering, Maintenance, PMO and site operations
Coordinate project logistics within a remote site environment
Safety Leadership
Demonstrate visible field safety leadership
Conduct SAOs and Fatal Risk Control checks
Stop work where safety is compromised
Experience Required
Project Management qualification or equivalent experience
Demonstrated project delivery experience in an operating asset (brownfield preferred)
Experience managing contractors and consultants
Remote site experience highly regarded
Strong cost and schedule management capability
