ROLE OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist for a contract opportunity with a well-established construction business.
This role supports construction teams across sub-contractor procurement, commercial evaluation and management, and transport, managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle from tendering through to contract award and kick-off.
This is an initial 6-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extending to 12+ months.
Primarily, you will be responsible for:
Managing the end-to-end procurement process for project related sub-contractor services.
Identifying, evaluating and communicating risk within procurement strategies and plans.
Preparing and issuing RFQs and RFTs, evaluation documentation and recommendation reports.
Building sub-contractor relationships and acting as a point of escalation for issue resolution.
Leading commercial negotiations to achieve favourable outcomes.
Meeting cost saving targets and procurement objectives.
Coordinating internal approvals and supporting contract administration processes.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
3+ years' experience in procurement, contracts or supply chain in construction, engineering or heavy industry.
Experience managing tender processes, commercial evaluations, negotiations and contract development.
Strong commercial analysis, bid evaluation and decision-making skills.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
Skilled in Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications; experience with ERP and procure-to-pay processes.
High accuracy, attention to detail, and strong integrity.
A degree in business, commerce, law, supply chain or engineering is preferred, along with a CIPS Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent). Familiarity with building materials and construction terminology will be highly regarded.
