ROLE OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a Principal Structural Design Engineer to lead and deliver structural design solutions across local and interstate Mining and Minerals Processing projects. This is a senior technical role with responsibility for design leadership, technical governance, and client engagement across multiple project phases from concept through to detailed design and construction support.
Primarily, you will be responsible for:
Leading structural design activities across multiple projects and ensuring technical quality and compliance
Developing and approving structural design concepts for steel and concrete structures from concept through to detailed design and delivery
Producing and reviewing advanced engineering deliverables including specifications, calculations, technical evaluations and reports
Acting as a senior technical authority for structural matters within project teams
Facilitating and chairing design reviews, risk workshops, and constructability reviews
Liaising directly with clients to provide technical advice, resolve issues, and support project outcomes
Supporting proposal development, scope definition, and design planning activitiesPreparing detailed Structural designs and engineering deliverables such as specifications, calculations, technical evaluations and reports
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Extensive experience in structural engineering within mining, minerals processing, or heavy industrial environments
Demonstrated experience delivering structural design for minerals processing plants or major industrial facilities
Proven capability leading structural design packages and coordinating across disciplines
Strong working knowledge of relevant Australian and international structural design standards
Strong client-facing communication and technical leadership skills
Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Structural) or equivalent
CPEng and/or RPEQ
