Role Overview
We are currently seeking multiple Mechanical Engineers at varying levels to support a major mining and minerals project. These contract roles range from Junior through to Senior and Lead-level Mechanical Engineers, all contributing to the delivery of critical mechanical systems and process equipment in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical systems including piping, pumps, chutes, bins, and steel structures
Contribute to or lead engineering reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
Coordinate with international design teams and manufacturing partners to support project delivery
Assist with procurement specifications, vendor assessments, and technical documentation
Oversee the delivery and installation of mechanical packages in line with project schedules and quality expectations
Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
0–10+ years of experience in mining, minerals processing, or heavy industrial environments
Proficiency in design software such as Autodesk Inventor (Tube & Pipe), AutoCAD, or NAVISworks
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, process equipment, and fabrication processes
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teams across borders
Familiarity with slurry systems, feeders, agitation equipment, or heavy machinery such as FELs and dozers is advantageous
Experience in an EPC or multidisciplinary project environment is preferred
RPEQ or working towards registration is highly regarded for senior-level positions
