Role Overview

Gravity Resources is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead the Gladstone operations of an established industrial business servicing customers across the resources, construction and heavy industry sectors.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day running and performance of the branch, including warehouse and distribution operations, inventory, purchasing, staff, customer relationships and general branch operations.

We are open to candidates who have already worked as a Branch Manager, as well as experienced Operations, Warehouse or Distribution Managers looking to step into broader branch responsibility.

The successful person will need to be comfortable working within a technical product environment and able to pick up new products, systems and processes quickly.

A big part of the role will be understanding how the branch currently operates, identifying areas for improvement and putting practical plans in place to improve organisation, efficiency and overall performance.

While this isn't a sales-focused position, you will have regular interaction with existing customers and need to be comfortable representing the business, building relationships and identifying opportunities as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the day-to-day operations and overall performance of the Gladstone branch

  • Managing warehouse, inventory, purchasing and distribution activities

  • Leading, supporting and developing branch staff

  • Reviewing existing processes and implementing practical operational improvements

  • Managing product, service, scheduling and general operational issues

  • Working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support branch requirements

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers

  • Monitoring branch costs, margins and operational performance

  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and broader business planning

  • Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient warehouse and branch environment

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Previous leadership experience across branch operations, warehousing, distribution, logistics or a similar environment

  • Experience within industrial, trade, construction, manufacturing, engineering supply or another technical product environment

  • A practical, hands-on approach to operations and problem solving

  • Strong warehouse, inventory and operational management capability

  • The ability to understand technical products and systems and learn quickly

  • Experience leading and developing operational teams

  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of costs, margins and branch performance

  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with customers, suppliers and senior management

  • Experience using ERP or inventory management systems

  • The ability to identify operational issues, develop an action plan and follow improvements through to completion

This role would suit an experienced operational leader who enjoys being close to the day-to-day business, working with their team and customers, and taking genuine ownership of how a branch performs.
