ROLE OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join a market leading construction business with a strong reputation for delivering high quality infrastructure and industrial projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing winning tenders and proposals from initial planning through to contract award and handover. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop compelling bids, ensuring alignment with business strategy and compliance with governance requirements. This role requires someone with strong communication skills, commercial acumen, and a strategic mindset.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the end-to-end bid management process, from Expression of Interest (EOI) to tendering, contract negotiation, and handover to the delivery team.

  • Develop and implement winning bid strategies in collaboration with Pre-Contracts, Estimating, and Submission teams.

  • Coordinate bid responses, ensuring high-quality, timely, and compliant submissions.

  • Conduct risk assessments and manage governance approvals in line with company standards.

  • Collaborate with technical teams, legal, finance, and senior leadership to shape competitive and commercially sound proposals.

  • Manage stakeholder communications, queries, and negotiations throughout the bid process.

  • Identify and evaluate potential partnering opportunities to strengthen bid competitiveness.

  • Maintain records of pursuits, engagement activities, and pipeline opportunities.

 

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant qualifications in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred but not essential).

  • Minimum of five years' experience in bid management, preferably within the Mining, Industrial, or Infrastructure sectors.

  • Proven experience managing complex maintenance, construct-only, or design & construction bids.

  • Strong commercial and contractual acumen with an understanding of capital works delivery.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.

  • Flexibility in work hours to meet tender submission deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings (as required).
